This statistical release covers the consolidated worldwide external claims and unused commitments of UK-owned monetary financial institutions (excluding central banks) and their branches and subsidiaries worldwide.

  • UK-owned monetary financial institutions and their branches and subsidiaries worldwide reported a decrease in consolidated external claims on an ultimate risk basis of $33.7 billion during 2024 Q2, to a level of $4,510.0 billion.
  • By sector, the largest decrease in claims was on the deposit-taking corporations sector, down by $40.4 billion to a level of $632.8 billion.
  • By region, the largest decrease in claims was on Developed Countries, down $37.6 billion to a level of $2,744.4 billion.
