Details on the additional industrial lending breakdown (form AL) return including deadlines, instructions, and contact details.

Data to be reported:

Additional breakdowns of claims on lending (including claims under sale and repurchase agreements), other than  (MFIs) and including disaggregated by industry

Funds placed with UK MFIs (banks and building societies) or non-residents, or facilities related to them, should not be included in this return. Lending for special schemes for exports (regarded as lending to non-residents) is also excluded

Who has to report:

Firms with private sector holdings (BT items £2H + £3H or £29D) in excess of £1 billion

Firms need to report figures as at the last calendar day of the reporting period.

Instructions

Overview of reported data

This return captures reporting institutions’ balance sheets assets related to UK residents other than monetary financial institutions and including the public sector. It includes breakdowns by:

  • assets, including loans and advances (including claims made under sale and repurchase agreements), financial leases, and facilities

It also captures:

  • currency breakdowns – sterling, euro, other – with foreign currencies to be reported in sterling
  • the broad economic industry UK sectors of counterparties – including manufacturing, fund managers, pensions funds, real estate etc

In every return firms also need to include:

  • their company name
  • their legal entity identifier (LEI) or firm reference number (FRN)
  • the first day of the reporting period
  • the last day of the reporting period
