Overview

The Bank of England has had a significant presence in Leeds for about 200 years and in May 2024 we announced plans to increase our staff numbers there to more than 500. 

The Bank is committed to serving the British public, strengthening links with the business community in the city and region, and promoting its work to a broader talent pool.

Our Leeds colleagues work from an accessible, modern office at Yorkshire House in the heart of this thriving, cultural hub.

  • Built in 1937, Yorkshire House is an architectural homage to the Modernist era and has been renovated to make the most of its high ceilings and natural light. It boasts impressive communal areas including two roof terraces and an onsite café.

    There are showers, bike storage, changing rooms and, as part of the Bank’s wider benefit package, subsidised membership to nearby gyms.

  • There are roles available across most areas of the Bank. We have opportunities in, technology, data, central operations, economic policy and analysis and many more.

  • The Bank has a wide array of Future Talent and Early Careers programmes with several being open for candidates interested in joining our Leeds Office.   • As in all of our offices, the Leeds Office offers opportunities for colleagues to come together. How to find us

By train

The closest train station is Leeds, which is a six to eight-minute walk to the office.

By bus

Many bus routes serve Leeds city centre. The closest stop to the office is on Infirmary Street and is a two-minute walk away. Leeds Bus Station only a 12-minute walk away.

By car

We are a five-minute walk from Q-Park The Light, Q-Park Albion Street and NCP The Core car parks. Alternatively, Leeds has three Park and Ride schemes, typically stopping within a 10 to 15-minute walk from the office.
