Biography

Tom Shropshire is the General Counsel and Company Secretary of Diageo plc and a member of its Executive Committee. Diageo is a global leader in beverage alcohol with brands across spirits and beer, operating in over 180 countries.
Tom is also a trustee of the New York University School of Law, a director of General Counsel for Diversity & Inclusion and a trustee of the global charity, Comic Relief.
Tom is a former partner of Linklaters LLP, where he was Global Head of the US Practice and co-head of the Risk & Resilience Practice. Tom has been identified as a leading executive in the US and UK over a number of years, and he was the author of the UN Global Compact’s “Guide for General Counsel on Corporate Sustainability”.
Tom was awarded his JD from New York University School of Law and his MBA from New York University Stern School of Business in 1998. Tom also obtained a BA in Political Science and a BA in International Relations from the University of Southern California in 1994.
