[d] The Office for National Statistics have recently completed a review of the Credit Grantors Survey and have re-examined the assumptions underlying this series. This has decreased the amount outstanding of credit card lending by £2bn and the amount outstanding of other unsecured lending by £8bn in January 2010. Flows of gross and net lending were not significantly affected. (31 Jan 2010)

[e] The amounts outstanding of secured lending has been reduced by £3.9bn following the transfer of a mortgage portfolio from a UK-resident MFI to an associated non-resident company. The movement has been adjusted out of the flows for October 2010. (31 Oct 2010)

[f] The Office for National Statistics regularly reviews its reporters to the Credit Grantors Survey. Due to a change in the reporting population, the amount outstanding of unsecured credit in January 2011 has decreased by £3.3bn from the level in December 2010. Of this credit card lending decreased by £0.4bn and other unsecured lending decreased by £2.9bn. These movements have been adjusted out of the lending flows for January 2011. (31 Jan 2011)

[g] Due to a one-off compensation payment by a reporting institution, the amount outstanding of this series has decreased by £500m. This movement has been adjusted out of March 2011 flows. (31 Mar 2011)

[2] The Office for National Statistics transferred their collection of monthly consumer credit data by 'other specialist lenders' to the Bank of England in April 2024. The Bank of England began collecting these data on 'Form MC' and made initial amendments to the reporting population. The overall impact of these amendments has been broadly balanced, with only a slight increase in the amounts outstanding, and some changes to gross lending and repayments series for consumer credit.
